Hsv2 for 2 years now. Valtrex was working but outbreaks have recently increased (several times in a month) Any suggestions? Would another brand of medication work?

    When I went to get treated for chronic outbreaks, my doctor told me that recent studies have shown that Acyclovir is proven more effective for chronic suppression treatment than Valtrex. Not that there's anything wrong with Valtrex, but if you're dealing with specifically chronic outbreaks, ask your doctor about Acyclovir.
